The first time I was fascinated by the idea of product development was in elementary school when my maternal grandmother taught me how to sew. Ever since then, I have used that feeling as my design inspiration. When I was nearing college, I knew product development was the major for me, especially after touring the department during my junior year of high school. My favorite part about being a raw material developer is collaborating with cross-functional teams and mills.

During a trip to New York City on a Textile and Apparel Management Experiential Learning Tour, I became enthralled with the idea of working in the industry. The ever-changing environment and constant need for critical thinking and problem solving is what excites me most about working in fashion.
